Napalm API

API Direct Interface Log File ISP View Service View

The Napalm (originally Net Access Platform) API provides a link between Net Access' Internet provisioning platforms and its outsourced billing and customer service platform. Net Access provides dialup & DSL internet connection, e-mail and webspace services via internally hosted Unix servers and outsourced platforms. Net Access' billing and customer services platform is fully outsourced and runs on an ASP.NET platform.

I built the Napalm API which communicates with all of the aforementioned platforms via XML, MySQL and 'screen scraping' (for one of the legacy platforms) to seamlessly tie them all together. The system is written highly modularised, written in object-orientated PHP, stores relevant data in a MySQL database and has a web based GUI interface for administration.

myholidayfriends

myholidayfriends was a message board and informational site aimed at reuniting friends who met on holiday but lost touch upon returning home.

I wrote and maintained the message board element of the site which ran on PHP and MySQL.

The website was specifically written to be fully functional on not only the usual Windows-IE/Mozilla/Mac-Safari combinations but also on the Bush Internet TV & set-top-box Internet appliances of the ISP owned by Net Access. Bush Internet TVs and set-top-boxes have several limitations that needed to be overcome: cut-back HTML support, limited bandwidth, slow page rendering & low-resolution high-flicker TV displays. The Bush Internet version of the myholidayfriends site can be viewed here.
